About The Position

Falcon Steel is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Material Handler to join our production team in Springfield. In this role, you will be the backbone of our shop floor, ensuring that our fabrication teams—including press brake operators and welders—have the materials they need exactly when they need them. Requirements

Minimum of 1–2 years in a warehouse, manufacturing, or construction environment (steel industry experience is a major plus).
Prior experience operating a sit-down forklift is required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and stand/walk for the duration of an 8–10 hour shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.
Strong attendance record and a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Experience with overhead bridge cranes is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely load and unload steel coils, plates, and structural components from trucks using forklifts, overhead cranes, or side-loaders.
Deliver specific raw materials to machine stations (Press Brakes, Lasers, Saws) and remove finished parts for staging.
Assist in performing cycle counts, labeling incoming stock, and organizing the yard or warehouse to maximize space.
Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies against packing slips; maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
Act as a "second pair of hands" for machine operators when moving large or heavy oversized sheets during the fabrication process.
