About The Position

This Material Handler role is based Onsite in Blacksburg, VA, and involves packaging components and final assemblies, processing supporting documentation for shipments, producing required export forms, maintaining shipment history and shipping supplies inventory. Key computer tasks include shipping per sales order reports, pre-invoicing orders, scheduling existing orders, and checking inventory. The role also requires unloading incoming materials, maintaining the dock/warehouse area, receiving and verifying supplies, entering data into the computer system, and delivering materials according to routing instructions. Material Handlers will assist in training/cross-training others, participate in Continuous Improvement Processes, and work with minimal supervision. Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all work instructions and training
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or warehousing
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work with computers including Microsoft suite, Excel, and Data Entry
  • Quality conscious, mechanical aptitude, and good dexterity
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an SAP environment

Responsibilities

  • Package components, final assemblies per detailed packing instructions and process supporting documentation for all product shipments
  • Produce all required export forms
  • Maintain history of shipments
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies
  • Computer tasks: ship per sales order report; pre-invoice all orders shipped; schedule existing orders; check actual inventory vs. computer totals
  • Unload incoming materials and maintain dock / warehouse area
  • Receive and verify incoming supplies, enter data into computer system and deliver material per routing instructions
  • Assist in training / cross-training of others
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Process
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned
