The Job Purpose is to operate forklifts safely and efficiently, handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly, maintain the warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping, load/unload RJW trucks/trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures, ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly, and properly store stock in the warehouse. The role performs material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities, works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers, and maintains forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • EXPERIENCE with WALKIE RIDER & REACH TRUCK REQUIRED
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
  • Flexible to work 10 to 12 hours shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.
  • He/she must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Possesses a sense of urgency, accountability, and be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Attention to detail and quality a must.
  • Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.
  • Major experience on Reach Truck or Walkie Rider
  • Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
  • Experience in cross docking freight process.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced warehouse.
  • 3-6 months of experience in a warehouse using Reach Truck/Walkie Rider
  • Good stable work record

Nice To Haves

  • Warehousing certifications a plus.
  • PC skills helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Ability to operate reach truck and /or Walkie Rider.
  • Loads and unloads RJW truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carriers equipment.
  • Picking and moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
  • Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Maintains warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Processing outbound cross-dock freight as necessary.
  • Oversees storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the storage racks.
  • Works from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
  • Records and verifies the accuracy of the shipments against the paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments / deliveries.
  • Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
  • Operates forklifts safely and efficiently following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
  • Completes daily forklift maintenance inspections.
  • Handles all customer products properly and orderly.
  • Checks deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage. Alerts Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
  • Reports all accidents / incidents, to employee, damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
  • Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility keeping them free of debris or snow.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.
