Material Handler - Small Order (Weekend Shift)

About The Position

The Material Handler - Small Order position picks and handles product and cartons in a warehouse environment. The employee uses information from a warehouse management system (WMS) or pick ticket to select products, labels and routes cartons, builds pallets, and unloads cartons from containers. The role also includes keeping work areas clean, orderly, and safe; following safe work practices; and potentially training less experienced staff. The position is full-time, with a stated schedule of Friday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The starting rate is $16.50 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential, for a total of $17.50 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Frequently lift, carry, stack, and/or move materials and product weighing up to 40 pounds.
May operate a wrapping machine, powered industrial equipment, and an RF scanner.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Pick product from assigned locations using information provided in a WMS or pick ticket.
Attach labels to cartons appropriately.
Place conveyable cartons on a conveyor belt.
Pull non-conveyable cartons offline using a pick ticket.
Stack cartons on the appropriate pallet and place the pallet out for the next wave.
Clean pick module and work areas daily, keeping picking locations neat, orderly, and safe.
Unload cartons from containers using a powered conveyor and stack them on the appropriate pallet.
Demonstrate safe working practices in all facets of work.
May train new or less experienced staff members.
Participate in continuous improvement events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction.
Perform other duties needed to help drive the company's vision, fulfill its mission, and abide by its values.
