About The Position

THIS IS AN ON-SITE ROLE LOCATED IN NEW ALBANY, INDIANA! WE ARE GROWING! When you work with Industrial Physics, you’ll be providing solutions for some of the most recognizable brands on the planet. And we do this through the development of trusted test and inspection solutions that ensure the quality of packaging, materials, and products. In fact, it’s very likely that many of your favorite products – the ones you depend upon every day – will have been tested using our equipment. We are the global leader in packaging and product integrity testing equipment, and our team covers industries including Food & Beverage, Flexible Packaging, Paints & Coatings, and various Industrial end markets. We currently have an opening for a Materials Associate / Inventory Clerk for Industrial Physics in our New Albany, Indiana location. The Material Handler receives, ships, picks, kits and cycle counts inventory in accordance with established standards and processes in an electromechanical production environment.

Requirements

  • Must be organized and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Show knowledge of standard shipping /receiving and inventory functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and ERP systems, freight systems, receive, pick and issue parts for production.
  • Be a team player, ready and willing to assist others.
  • Participate in LEAN activities to improve efficiency and standard work practices.
  • Ability to generate and understand shipping domestic and international paperwork
  • Also be able to read and understand receiving and work order paperwork,
  • Participate in problem-solving and improvement teams.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at a time.
  • Must be flexible and available for overtime where necessary.
  • High School or High School equivalent diploma required.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a production environment and/or handling component-level parts.

Responsibilities

  • Shipping - Domestic and International
  • Receiving, material handling, inventory cycle counts.
  • Ensure that any defects found during the receiving or picking process are identified and segregated.
  • Ability to Cross train on multiple areas for materials. Receiving, Shipping, Work Orders, Kitting etc.
  • Work with team members to collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives relating to materials.
  • Ensure that all equipment used are maintained in accordance with company protocols
  • Perform additional duties beyond the scope of work upon request.
