About The Position

The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the production environment. This position is responsible for the timely receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods to support continuous manufacturing operations. The role requires close coordination with production teams to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize downtime caused by material shortages. Additionally, the Material Handler will uphold safety standards and maintain organized work areas to promote a productive and hazard-free workplace. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to the overall operational efficiency and quality output of the Warehouse process.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control and material tracking systems.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or equivalent training.
  • Experience working in a metal fabrication facility.
  • Familiarity with computerized inventory management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and work orders.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and supplies
  • Transport materials to designated production areas using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking material movement and reporting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to prioritize material delivery and ensure continuous workflow.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment to prevent accidents.
  • Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits to support inventory accuracy.
  • Identify and report any material quality issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
