About The Position

As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in keeping warehouse and production operations running efficiently. You will ensure materials and products are accurately received, stored, moved, and distributed while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions, numbers, and documents.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment that includes moving equipment, noise, temperature changes, and exposure to warehouse conditions.
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime when required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience.
  • Previous forklift or powered industrial truck operating experience.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Inventory control or cycle counting experience.
  • Experience loading and unloading trailers in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine materials to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Transport materials and products between receiving, storage, and production areas.
  • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to established procedures.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, and stock requests and distribute materials to production areas.
  • Assemble customer orders and prepare shipments on pallets.
  • Mark and identify materials and products accurately.
  • Open bales, crates, containers, and other packaging materials.
  • Record quantities of materials and products received and distributed.
  • Weigh and count items to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Operate manual and automated material handling equipment, including forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Load and unload palletized and non-palletized products from trailers.
  • Transport and relocate stored materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Use computer systems to enter records and maintain inventory information.
  • Take photos of incoming and outgoing loads and document shipments as required.
  • Participate in cycle counts and inventory activities as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and keep aisles and exits clear of obstructions.
  • Follow all safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and workplace injuries promptly.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Work overtime as required and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Where applicable, climb material tanks, access tank trailers, inspect seals, and collect samples.
