About The Position

The basic function of a Material Handler is to supply product to the production lines in order to keep the lines running in a timely and accurate manner. This role operates on a weekend shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; 5am - 5pm.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to carry out routine and repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Experience using Forklifts, Pallet Jacks or other equipment to move product.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment beneficial (inventory management and warehouse management system (SAP)).

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Moving product to and from the production lines to ensure continuous operation of machines.
  • Processing within product specifications.
  • Using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move items.
  • Following all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Adhering to all Food Safety Quality requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of product movement.
  • Performing job rotation tasks such as placing empty containers on line, observing filling process, repackaging boxes, and stacking product on pallets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work area.
  • Readily accepting and adapting quickly to any task/production line reassignment and working closely and cooperatively with any reassigned team leader and team members to accomplish production requirements.
  • Cooperating and communicating well with co-workers and striving at all times to promote teamwork, build team spirit and heighten morale.
  • Demonstrating a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees.
  • Actively participating in any training program made available by the company.
  • Recognizing and performing duties that need to be performed although not directly assigned.
  • Performing work duties and responsibilities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Completing paperwork and documentation accurately, neatly, and in a timely manner (e.g., production tickets, downtime reports).
  • Being knowledgeable of all company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures and complying with them at all times.
  • Following all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and reviewing them regularly.
  • Performing other duties and assuming additional responsibilities as necessary.
