About The Position

Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a 3rd shift Material Handler/High Reach Operator in Houston, TX. The Material Handler/High Reach Operator is responsible for supporting warehouse operations by efficiently receiving, transporting, and organizing materials throughout the facility. This role ensures accurate inventory management, safe material handling, and the timely preparation of orders for shipment. Operating forklifts—including high reach trucks—is essential, along with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company standards and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Forklift operation proficiency, high reach preferred
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to general instructions and directions
  • Ability to stand and move about facility for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds. Assistance provided as needed.
  • High school diploma/GED (General Equivalency Diploma) or one year related industrial experience or equivalent training
  • Personal protective equipment is required
  • Continuous participation in company safety training
  • Company forklift operation and certification
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold environments without climate-control
  • In-person attendance is an essential function of the job

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload materials
  • Palletize and prepare orders for shipment on occasion
  • Work to maintain inventory stock and an organized warehouse
  • Transport wire and materials throughout facility on a forklift
