Material Handler - Cantonment, FL
About The Position
Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. The company is seeking a Material Handler to join their team in the Cantonment, FL area. This role is responsible for the physical receipt, storage, and distribution of production materials. The position also involves conducting physical inventories, resolving count discrepancies, managing non-conforming materials, and liaising with purchasing and production departments on material-related issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred with a minimum of one year's experience in Materials or Operations supplemented with OJT.
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
- Sound basic math skills.
- Ability to perform job duties with a high degree of accuracy.
- Due to large work areas sometimes involved, must be able to perform job duties with limited direct supervision.
- Possess working knowledge of standard material receiving and internal distribution practices.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Assist with terminal / distribution operations by performing loading and unloading activities
- Monitor products transferred to and from tanks, vessels, or pipelines at terminal site
- Assist with terminal maintenance duties as needed maintaining equipment in operating condition
- Catch samples as per Standard Operating Procedure
- Input information into electronic hand-held device which documents Standard Operating Procedure
- Load trucks, railcars and unload raw materials from outside suppliers and intra-plant Units.
- Track mobile movement & spot railcars and tanker trailers
- Assist customers and/or producers with any problems that may arise
- Special assignment duties and call out as required
- Subject to random DOT drug screening
