About The Position
Friendship is looking for a Full-Time Material Handler. The Material Handler is responsible for tracking receipt, storage and issuance of materials, equipment and supplies used at Friendship.
Requirements
- Must possess basic computer skills and be familiar with basic office equipment
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to lift or move items weighing 30 lbs. regularly; must also be able to move items in excess of 50 lbs. intermittently with the assistance of appropriate tools (i.e. dolly)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver’s License in the state of Virginia with a clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Frontline customer service
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment for 253-bed skilled nursing facility
- Effectively communicate with vendors to resolve supply/equipment issues
- Receive, record and deliver parcels to multiple departments throughout building
- Replenish nursing unit supply rooms weekly
- Light troubleshooting of durable medical equipment
- Assist with charging out supplies for billing purposes via supply charge-capture system
- Disburse petty cash as needed and maintain accurate record of disbursements
- Serve as back-up to the Materials - Support Services personnel when needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Adhere to purchasing guidelines and schedules
- Effectively maintain inventories and ensure items are transported to appropriate destinations
- Ensure confidential documents/items are transported safely and in compliance with facility policies and procedure
