About The Position

Our team in Batavia is looking for an exceptional person to join their warehouse team as a Material Handler! In this role, warehouse material handlers are responsible for moving parts and materials between production areas by lifting or otherwise moving raw materials and parts. Safely operates appropriate equipment required to move materials along the production floor. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm CST. Occasional overtime is required.

Requirements

  • High School completion or equivalent (GED) required
  • 0-1 year warehouse experience
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights while using reach/lift trucks in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.
  • Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA forklift and HAZMAT certifications are a plus, not required
  • Forklift and reach truck experience are a plus, not required

Responsibilities

  • Unload trucks, trailers, and freight containers; count products; and compare products to the manifest to check all shipments for damage, infestation, or production code dates.
  • Report shortages, damages, and misshipments on the appropriate forms.
  • Sign for inbound shipments when necessary.
  • Move inbound shipments safely to storage locations to be efficiently stacked as store merchandise.
  • Ensure that the correct product number, quantity, and type (lot, batch, serial number) are picked.
  • Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms using material handling equipment, such as forklifts, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks.
  • Label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, overpack, and palletize as required.
  • Compare quantity, labeling, and address with the order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct.
  • Assign signatures to outbound shipments as needed.
  • Efficiently move products, cartons, and pallets into trailers, rail cars, or containers.
  • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Keep accurate records and reports.
  • Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Key inventory adjustments in the computer.
  • Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions.
  • Repair and consolidate damaged goods as required.
  • Operate a shrink-wrap machine.
  • Charge the forklift battery as needed; stack and separate good from bad pallets when necessary; clean railcars, trailers, truck docks, and bays as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Pay Transparency: The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $35,500.00 - $56,925.00
