About The Position

Support internal material transfer by booking systematically, transporting, staging and stacking raw materials, finished goods, empty dunnage using the required Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT's). This role ensures the timely delivery of parts, materials, and finished goods while maintaining quality and safety standards. The Material Handler will also be responsible for maintaining good housekeeping using the 6S principles and performing PIT inspections.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs) including Tugger, sit-down forklift, and stand-up forklift.
  • Ability to read labels to verify quantities, part numbers, and descriptions.
  • Ability to use a hand-held scanner.
  • Understanding of inventory booking procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines for the work area.
  • Ability to maintain good housekeeping using the 6S principles.
  • Ability to perform PIT inspections.
  • Cooperative attitude towards co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Book, transport, stage, and stack raw materials, finished goods, and empty dunnage using Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs).
  • Check quantities of received goods and materials against instructions and guidelines.
  • Prepare goods and materials for inventory booking and process the bookings.
  • Safely operate PITs (Tugger, sit-down forklift, stand-up forklift) to deliver parts and raw materials to production lines.
  • Deliver finished and packaged goods from production to the warehouse or as internal material flow dictates.
  • Load and offload outbound and inbound transports.
  • Stage and transport materials with correctly affixed labels.
  • Communicate with team leaders and supervisors regarding material flow issues, part shortages, and safety concerns.
  • Read labels to verify quantities, part numbers, and descriptions.
  • Determine part and material availability and report shortages.
  • Use a hand-held scanner to verify warehouse locations before transporting parts.
  • Use a hand-held scanner to order and retrieve parts from the warehouse.
  • Distribute goods and materials and book them according to instructions.
  • Ensure parts, materials, and finished goods are not damaged during transportation to meet quality requirements.
  • Ensure damaged parts, materials, and finished goods pass a quality inspection before delivery.
  • Maintain good housekeeping using the 6S principles.
  • Perform PIT inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of parts, materials, and finished goods.
  • Be cooperative with co-workers to maintain a good working environment.
  • Remove old labels from customer and internal dunnage before dispatching to the production line.
