About The Position

The Receiving Material Handler is responsible for checking in and unloading trucks, performing simple inspections of materials, and transporting material appropriately. This role also involves stocking materials, picking orders, and performing simple cycle counts of the warehouse.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Good technical knowledge of sit down, stand up, and reach trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming parts/goods/materials for clearly recognizable damage (e.g. packaging, part/material, etc.) and make yes/no decisions.
  • Sort out damaged parts/batches and place them in a blocked storage area.
  • Carry out simple transport within the plant.
  • Assemble and forward transported goods documentation (e.g. accompanying papers, packing slips, hazardous materials documentation, etc.) according to the order.
  • Perform simple input (e.g. bar code, etc.) of given data (e.g. identification numbers, quantities, weights, etc.).
  • Assist with inventory control/inventory (e.g. counting, weighing, etc.) and report deviations.
  • Check and compare quantities of parts/goods/materials with accompanying papers (e.g. count, weigh, compare ID numbers, etc.).
  • Book parts/goods/material in and out to specified storage locations (e.g. holding areas, blocked (JFD) materials storage, customs warehouse, etc.) according to guidelines/instructions.
  • Receive, sort, distribute, unpack, book in, and repack parts/goods/material; if necessary, use simple to operate material handling equipment (e.g. hand trucks, forklifts, bicycles, small vehicles, etc.).
  • Ensure incoming parts/goods/materials are clear of recognizable damage.
  • Ensure that products are not damaged during transportation. If damages during the transportation occur, notify team leader and quality inspection.
  • Forward transported goods documentation (packing slips, hazardous materials documentations, bill of laden, etc…) to team leader and/or receiving clerk.
  • Perform specific tasks using hand-held Scanners (ie. moving media to media and warehouse to warehouse).
  • Check and compare quantities of parts/goods/materials with accompanying papers.
  • Receive, sort, distribute, unpack, book in, and repack parts/goods/material; if necessary.
  • Maintain good housekeeping using the 6S principles.
  • Perform PIT inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order and follow all safety guidelines for the work area.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of parts and materials.
  • Be cooperative with co-workers in order to maintain a good working environment.
  • Use hand-held scanner to move media to media and warehouse to warehouse.
  • Stock in, distribute, pick, repack, and verify parts/goods/material; if necessary.
  • Perform specific tasks using Scanners to systematically move materials.
  • Use Powered Industrial trucks (Turret, Stand-up Forklifts, and Sit-Down Forklift) to unload, store, retrieve, stage, and transport material.
