About The Position

The Material Handler moves raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility, primarily using a forklift and potentially cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment. The role works under direct supervision and handles basic issues and problems. It is performed on the warehouse floor, on or around heavy machinery, and has been identified as safety sensitive. Candidates considered for employment must successfully complete pre-employment drug testing, which may include marijuana testing as permitted by applicable law.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and write English; in Quebec, ability to read and write French.
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds for 100 feet.
Ability to perform basic math.
Previous forklift experience.
Ability to sit for long periods and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping motions.
Safety mindset.

Nice To Haves

Experience using handheld measuring tools.
Basic computer skills and knowledge, including database programs and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Remove and stock products, customer products, and supplies according to the inventory plan.
Select products to fill customer orders and package them properly.
Load and unload trucks and verify that the correct items are handled.
Pick, process, and pack orders; may also cut orders on a Kaltenbach saw.
Complete cycle counts.
Identify, hold, and segregate defective material.
Complete paperwork according to work instructions when required.
Perform general cleanup.
Inspect the forklift at the beginning of every shift and report issues to the immediate supervisor or designated personnel.
Participate in and comply with health, safety, ISO, and 6S initiatives and requirements.
Assist with other duties supporting operations as requested by a supervisor or team lead.
