Material Handler 1
About The Position
This role is responsible for handling, moving, and storing various materials within a warehouse environment. The Material Handler will pull materials from warehouse rack locations, record all transactions in the ERP system, and manage material inventory accuracy. This position supports operations by moving materials to and from locations, ensuring materials are properly stored both virtually and physically, and loading/unloading transport vehicles. The role also involves identifying process improvement opportunities, assisting with general housekeeping, and performing other duties as assigned. Advancement to Material Handler Levels is based on experience and responsibility.
Requirements
- Must be attentive to safety in the workplace.
- Knowledgeable and detail oriented regarding product, labels, lot numbers, quantities, and shipping methods.
- Proficient at multi-tasking, able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills.
- Physical requirements may include standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, lifting to 50 lbs, and repetitive motion.
- Must be knowledgeable in basic math functions.
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of computers/scanners.
- Must be open to cross training, if needed.
- Forklift certified or willingness to be trained to operate a forklift.
Nice To Haves
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Handles, moves, and stores various materials within a warehouse environment.
- Pulls materials from warehouse rack locations and records all transactions in the ERP system.
- Manages, monitors, and records material movement in ERP or via physical document.
- Moves materials to and from operations locations to support Work Orders.
- Monitors material inventory accuracy and ensures proper status is assigned in ERP.
- Ensures materials are in proper ERP (virtually) and physically in warehouse rack locations.
- Inspects and operates manual and electric pallet jacks.
- Loads and unloads materials from transport vehicles.
- Pulls correct items from warehouse locations to support orders and stages them for packing.
- Identifies and suggests Process Improvement opportunities.
- Assists in general housekeeping, including sweeping and cleaning areas within or around the warehouse.
- Performs various other duties as assigned by Team Leads and Warehouse Manager.
