About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring parts and components are prepared and supply materials to the appropriate assembly lines in accordance with the MTU America Material Flow Strategy. The role involves preparing and supplying material to assembly lines, moving material between storage locations, reading standard work instructions, performing shipping and receiving duties, and utilizing RF scanning equipment for various tasks including inventory cycle counts and material replenishment. The Material Handler also complies with safety regulations, maintains a clean work area, provides training, identifies and reduces non-value-added work, and performs special projects as needed, maintaining flexibility to support other production areas.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in material handling and/or warehousing
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, and costs
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards

  • Knowledge of basic SAP software capabilities and functionality
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and supply material to assembly lines in accordance with the MTU America Material Flow Strategy
  • Move material between material storage locations, including shipping & receiving docks
  • Read and interpret standard work instructions and build documents
  • Inspect and maintain equipment logs as required
  • Perform all aspects of shipping & receiving of material & finished goods including production material, non-production material and completed engines.
  • Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists
  • Utilize radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment as required to complete material moves, ship completed engines, conduct inventory cycle counts, and trigger material replenishment to the assembly line.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Provide training to personnel as specified in the departmental training matrix
  • Identify and reduce non-value-added work
  • Perform special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in materials and other production related areas.
