Material Handler - Night Shift

About The Position

The Material Handler works in the Operations department and moves supplies throughout the plant. This hourly, non-exempt position uses powered industrial trucks to move raw materials to production lines, organize the assigned work area, and stage finished products according to supervisor instructions. The role also tracks and sorts inventory, loads outbound trailers, verifies the accuracy of materials and products entering and leaving the facility, completes required paperwork, and provides production relief as assigned and trained. All work is performed with a safety-first mindset and using IPS lean manufacturing skills. The position works a 7:00 PM–7:15 AM shift and reports to the Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of manufacturing experience, including previous powered industrial truck experience.
Licensed for powered industrial truck usage under IPG protocols.
Ability to meet objectives with minimum supervision.
Basic computer, math, and English written communication skills.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time.
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds continuously.
Ability to consistently lift arms and work within full range of arm motion.

Responsibilities

Move raw materials to production lines using powered industrial trucks.
Organize the assigned work area and stage finished product according to supervisor instructions.
Track and sort inventory while loading trailers for outbound shipment.
Ensure the accuracy of materials and products entering and exiting the production facility.
Complete required paperwork.
Relieve in production as assigned and trained.
Perform work with a safety-first mentality and use IPS lean manufacturing skills.
Perform related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
