About The Position

Under general direction, the Material Handler performs trailer inspections and loads and unloads rolls, finished-product pallets, and other materials. After reviewing production schedules, the handler stages raw materials—including required rolls and corrugated cases—to production work centers. The role operates roll-clamp trucks and forklifts safely to support shipping and receiving, finished-goods storage, material staging at machine work centers, and overall raw-material flow. The handler verifies shipped and received products against relevant documentation, such as bills of lading, shipping releases, and purchase orders, and keeps work areas clean and orderly. The position pays $25.00 per hour, with a $2.50-per-hour shift differential for night work. The schedule is 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Wednesday: 36 hours worked are compensated as 40 hours. Overtime flexibility is expected. Great Northern describes its workplace as collaborative, team-first, safe, clean, enjoyable, and predictable, and offers opportunities to develop skills and advance to higher-paying positions at facilities locally and nationally.
