About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Material Handler - 1st Shift Seismic at our Reno, NV facility! The hourly rate for this position is $22.73 per hour. The core hours are 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

A minimum 6 months of previous forklift experience or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
Must possess a valid and current driver's license.
No relocation package offered. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the work location to be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitations.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 1 year of previous forklift or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.

Responsibilities

Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods.
Load and unload trailers as required.
Pick and pull stock for delivery.
Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis (assist during backyard attendant absence).
Organize material storage locations in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis.
Complete daily forklift inspection.
Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler daily, operating cardboard baler, etc.).
Ability to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
Keeps work areas clean and safe.
Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
