About The Position

The Material Handler supports cheese production and packaging in a clean manufacturing environment. The role involves preparing product for the production line, operating and adjusting packaging-related equipment, handling pallets and boxes, inspecting finished packages, and performing cleanup and sanitation as needed. The posting lists a starting pay rate of $19 or more per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential for second shift. The second-shift core schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Saturday hours are generally 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday hours depend on production and staffing needs. Work beyond eight hours in a workday or 40 straight-time hours in a workweek is compensated at one and one-half times the straight-time rate.

Nice To Haves

• Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Open product and feed cheese onto the production line for wrapping and packaging.
• Adjust cutting equipment.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF requirements, and established safety rules and regulations.
• Move pallets and perform basic cleanup, including sweeping.
• Assist other positions as needed.
• Pack cheese products into boxes and stack boxes on pallets.
• Inspect packages and boxes for good seals and code dates.
• Use box-erecting, case-sealing, and labeling equipment.
• Sanitize the work area and equipment as needed.
