About The Position

Penguin Random House is seeking Material Handlers for its distribution center in Westminster, Maryland. The role involves picking and packing customer book orders using a variety of methods, including voice automation. The center distributes approximately 1.2 million books daily. The listed third-shift schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The base rate is $17.20 per hour plus a 15% shift differential, for a total rate of $19.78 per hour. Requirements

• Basic reading and math skills.
• Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to stand for an entire shift; minimal breaks are provided.
• Ability to climb stairs and work comfortably on an upper mezzanine level.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must complete background and drug screening as part of the employment process.
