About The Position

Verdeco Recycling, Inc. is seeking an experienced Material Handler to support its California operation. Verdeco converts recycled plastic flake into custom-formulated pellets for a range of end-use applications, using advanced technology and quality control. The role supports warehouse and production operations, including material handling, packing, weighing, truck loading and unloading, and maintaining material flow. The opening is for the second shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating days off. Employees must pass a drug test and background check.

Requirements

Must speak, read, and write English.
Able to lift up to 55 pounds.
Reliable transportation.
Able to walk up and down a flight of stairs to load the hopper.
Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator.
Ability to operate scales.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Good interpersonal skills in a team environment.
Capable of safely operating powered industrial forklifts.
Must pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

Perform material handling, packing, weighing, and miscellaneous warehouse duties; provide production support as needed.
Load and unload trucks.
Support facility safety objectives in coordination with management and wear and use proper PPE.
Assist with training new personnel.
Complete shift communication logs.
Report equipment issues to the Lead and document them.
Maintain accurate production counts on reports and prepare written production reports.
Maintain good housekeeping and a clean, safe work area; keep scrap levels to a minimum.
Assist with production start-ups and shutdowns.
Safely operate forklifts and perform daily forklift checks.
Maintain material flow to machines as required.
Transport material from staging areas to dumpers and move finished goods from the production floor to the warehouse.
Properly label finished products.
Clean and maintain loading equipment and scales.
Assist with inventory counts.
Perform other duties as requested by the Lead or Management.
