About The Position

Coordinates set up of materials for each production run. This role involves assessing priorities on the schedule board, creating inventory picks, and using RF scanners to collect and manage materials. The Material Handler is responsible for identifying and pulling correct material lots, updating job statuses, and returning unused materials to inventory. They will also consume raw materials and output completed jobs using Business Central software, relocating them to their appropriate warehouse locations. Additionally, this role supports plant cleanliness by organizing materials, picking up loose skids, and moving material off presses. The Material Handler may also assist in shipping, receiving, and final inspection as needed, and is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory through monthly cycle counts. This position requires effective communication and the ability to interact with various departments, and may involve performing duties of other Material Handler functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to interact effectively with various departments in the organization.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Lifting of objects up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Determine job setup priorities based on the schedule board.
  • Create inventory picks to collect required materials.
  • Use RF scanners to fill picks and pull material from shelves using forklifts or carts.
  • Identify different lots of material and pull according to pick instructions.
  • Update the schedule board with job setup status, issues, or needs.
  • Identify returned material quantities and return them to the shelf using the RF scanner.
  • Consume raw material in the consumption journal using Business Central software.
  • Output completed jobs using Business Central software and relocate them to the appropriate warehouse location.
  • Organize materials to keep the plant clean.
  • Pick up loose skids from around the shop.
  • Move material off presses when needed.
  • Assist shipping, receiving, and final inspection when needed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Conduct monthly inventories along with Shipping and Receiving.
  • Minimize downtime between jobs by ensuring product readiness.
  • Follow and enforce procedures written in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform duties of other Material Handler functions as needed (shipping, receiving, final assembly).
  • Interact effectively with various departments in the organization.
  • Utilize effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
