Receives, maintains, sorts, inspects, stores and distributes a wide variety of materials to multiple departments, suppliers, vendors and customers in a timely and accurate fashion. This role is responsible for a clean and safe work area, reading and interpreting various documents, and accurately recording information. The Material Handler operates bar coding and other computerized equipment, as well as material handling equipment. They utilize RF devices to pick material, debox and label material, weight count material, issue material to a work order, and transfer material to manufacturing. Quality inspections of parts and lot numbers are conducted, and procedures are followed to ensure accurate transfers, transactions, and labeling. The role also involves performing various receiving duties, participating in cycle counts and bay audits, performing data entry transactions using SAP, and performing other duties such as cleaning, processing returns, QA transfers, scrapping material, and mixing polymers. Accuracy in data entry for work order closeouts, visual inspection of product, and label accountability are key quality aspects. Safety is paramount, requiring a clean and safe work environment, safe operation of material handling equipment, and proper lifting techniques. The role also manages compliance with relevant regulatory/legal requirements and builds quality into all aspects of work.
