Material Handler - 3rd shift 12:00am - 8:30am
About The Position
This position is responsible for gathering, weighing, and blending materials. The Material Handler will maintain the supply of materials to machines, including raw material, cartons, and sleeves. They will move materials to and from production areas using a forklift and properly store them. Responsibilities also include grinding material, labeling regrind, and keeping the grinding area organized and clean. The role involves assisting in purging machines and cleaning magnets, connecting vacuum systems to supply material to machines, and moving finished goods to the warehouse. Additionally, the Material Handler will wrap finished boxes, document material movement, and complete required paperwork. They will gather lot control information for Quality Control, help monitor inventory levels, and advise supervision of low volumes. Equipment checks, unloading bulk resin trailers, and maintaining a clean work area are also key duties. This role is also responsible for food safety, food quality, and site safety.

- Maintain supply of materials to machines (raw material, cartons, sleeves, skids, etc.).
- Move materials to and from production areas by forklift and properly storing them when required.
- Grind material, label regrind, keep grinding area organized and clean.
- Assist in purging machines and cleaning magnets in the hopper throat.
- Connect vacuum system to supply material to machines.
- Move finished goods to warehouse.
- Wrap finished boxes.
- Document movement of materials and complete all required paperwork.
- Gather lot control information for Quality Control.
- Help to monitor inventory levels and advise supervision of low volumes.
- Check equipment (tires, hours, brakes, etc).
- Unload bulk resin trailers.
- Keep work area clean and maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation.
- Maintain safety in the department.
- Perform other warehousing and related tasks.
- Relieve service persons as necessary.
- Discard cardboard bales to designated area in warehouse.
