About The Position

American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking a Material Handler to support its manufacturing operations. This role involves safely moving raw materials, fabricated components, assemblies, and finished products throughout the facility using equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy operating machinery, thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, and play a crucial part in maintaining efficient production flow. This is a hands-on manufacturing support role, not a warehouse or shipping clerk position, and requires close collaboration with various production teams to ensure timely and accurate material delivery in a heavy industrial environment.

Requirements

Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws

Nice To Haves

Forklift operation experience preferred
Overhead crane experience preferred
Rigging and material handling experience preferred
Manufacturing, fabrication, industrial equipment, steel processing, or heavy manufacturing experience preferred
Forklift certification
Class A CDL (not required)

Responsibilities

Transport raw materials, fabricated components, assemblies, and finished products throughout the facility.
Move materials between production bays, staging areas, storage locations, and shipping areas.
Support production flow by ensuring materials are available when and where needed.
Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
Perform rigging activities using slings, shackles, lifting devices, and spreader bars.
Select appropriate lifting equipment based on load characteristics.
Inspect rigging equipment before use.
Safely move loads of varying sizes, weights, and configurations.
Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
Assist with shipment staging and material preparation.
Verify load securement and material placement.
Support customer delivery schedules.
Verify material identification, quantities, and locations.
Support inventory accuracy and material tracking efforts.
Assist with material organization and storage management.
Maintain staging areas and material flow processes.
Conduct pre-use inspections of forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment.
Report equipment defects and safety concerns promptly.
Maintain organized and safe work areas.
Follow all safety procedures and lifting practices.
