We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Material Handler / Crane Operator to join our operations team in St. Louis. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in material handling or crane operation
  • Skilled in crane capacity limits, rigging, and safe handling of large and irregular steel materials
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Able to calculate the weight of materials and accurately read tape measures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently on a routine basis and handle materials safely as part of daily job duties.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain safe body positioning while performing tasks and moving through the work area, including walking on concrete floors and uneven surfaces.
  • Frequent squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, requiring full-body mobility, balance, and upper- and lower-body strength to perform work safely.
  • Manual agility to operate tools safely and effectively, with regular use of arms, shoulders, and back for lifting, reaching, and positioning tasks.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Maintain adequate visual and auditory acuity to safely perform assigned tasks, including but not limited to: identifying potential hazards, reading and/or recording measurements, inspecting materials, and responding promptly to verbal instructions, alarms or hand signals in the work environment

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies and immediately report any hazards or deficiencies
  • Attend all mandatory training and safety meetings
  • Maintain cleanliness and organize materials in assigned work areas
  • Operate 3 to 5-ton bridge cranes and 6,000 lb propane sit-down forklifts
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections for forklifts, cranes, and controls
  • Load/unload trucks and stock materials using dual hoist bridge cranes or forklifts
  • Report unusual equipment noises or malfunctions
  • Assist with stock checks and inventory counts as directed
  • Support training efforts for new employees when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
