About The Position

To provide user departments with supplies on a timely basis; to check, process and deliver supplies. This role involves verifying received supplies against packing slips, delivering materials, equipment, and supplies to users promptly, and ensuring all documentation is accurately processed for computer input. The Material Handler is also responsible for operating a forklift, adhering to safety procedures, and completing necessary training.

Requirements

Previous data entry experience or training.
Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing forty to sixty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred pounds.
Ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.
PCC's Fork Lift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed.

Responsibilities

Verify received supplies with packing slips and deliver materials, equipment, and supplies to users in a timely manner.
Check delivered goods for hidden damage and report any damage according to standard procedures.
Verify quantities and weights of contents against packing slip information.
Deliver supplies within standard time frames allotted for "rush" and "regular" shipments.
Operate forklift to unload delivery trucks and to deliver supplies.
Assure all documentation regarding delivery receipt is complete for computer input.
Enter information into computerized system for all receipts.
Process signature sheets as required on all deliveries.
Process unidentified deliveries within appropriate time frames.
Process deliveries containing damaged goods.
Process Controlled Materials as specified by Quality Control Manual.
Adhere to plant and department safety rules.
Safely operate all machines and equipment.
Identify and report safety problems.
Complete logs and records.
Perform other tasks as directed.
