About The Position

Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements. We are looking for a Material Handler to support our team on a mid-shift from about 11am to 7:30pm Monday-Friday. You will be required to spend a period of time training on day shift from 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. This role receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within established guidelines. Accurate computer interface and entry is essential to the job.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience and/or training in warehousing.
  • Computer skills necessary.
  • Ability to obtain a Forklift license.
  • Good computer and math skills.
  • Customer Service focused, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Cycle counting and Inventory Control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins throughout the facility according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Processes requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers to weigh or count.
  • Examines materials to ensure shipments meet specifications and mark identifying information.
  • Accurately weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Uses computer to enter amounts of materials and items received or distributed and maintaining inventory information.
  • Uses radio frequency (R/F) guns to move materials.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  • Drives forklift to transport items throughout facility.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
  • Consistently and accurately complies with DOT and HazMat regulations.
  • Sweeps area and cleans equipment.
  • Attends Quality manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and material properly.
  • Reports consistently to work and is on time.
  • Able to work an eight-hour shift and any overtime as needed.
