About The Position

Barnes & Noble’s Monroe Distribution Center is hiring a part-time Material Handler for a warehouse role. The position supports accurate and timely fulfillment of orders for Barnes & Noble stores and .com customers, ensuring products are available and quality issues are minimized. The material handler is expected to meet or exceed daily production goals while working safely and in accordance with company policies and Core Values. The role is scheduled for the second shift, 4:00 PM–8:00 PM. The starting rate is $17.50 per hour, plus a $1.00 shift differential. Overtime is offered for daily and weekend shifts, and schedules may need to be flexible during peak season as business needs arise. The Monroe Distribution Center is located just off Exit 8A on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Responsibilities

Adhere to safety protocols and foster a safe work environment.
Palletize, put away, and ship product accurately and on time.
Rotate among material handler functions, including loading and unloading and providing trays and case-pack materials in the Packing Department.
Work with urgency and care to meet or exceed individual and department production goals.
Assist new hires and department transfers in a friendly and approachable manner.
Communicate positively with booksellers and management about questions or concerns.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Support accurate and timely order fulfillment for Barnes & Noble stores and .com customers while minimizing quality issues.
