About The Position

This role is responsible for all material movement through the facility, including finished goods, tools, rafts, packaging material, and scrap bins. The Material Handler will load and unload freight for incoming and outgoing shipments, scan products in and out of locations, and maintain warehouse organization. Key tasks include picking stock for shipments, relocating and consolidating inventory, staging shipments, and pulling backlogs. The position also involves creating bills of lading, sending ASNs and required paperwork to customers, and performing visual inspections of raw materials. The Material Handler is responsible for the total quality of products and services and is authorized to stop work when a non-conformance is noted. They will also perform assigned quality system functions and observe established EHS regulations.

Requirements

  • Able to read and interpret documents i.e. safety rules, work instructions, prints, and control plans.
  • Ability to use various measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and other hand tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Must work effectively in a team.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to perform excessive walking, standing, bending, climbing, reaching, grasping, and lifting.
  • Ability to visually inspect parts and use of hands to use measuring gauges.
  • Ability to run machines and equipment safely and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Experience operating a forklift truck preferred.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is a bonus.
  • Experience operating a Combi is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload freight both for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Responsible for all material movement through the facility including finished goods, tools, rafts, packaging material, scrap bins, etc.
  • Scan products in and out of locations and during shipping.
  • Maintain warehouse organization.
  • Pick stock for shipments, relocate, consolidate, quarantine inventory, and stage shipments.
  • Pull backlogs, pull stock, and create bills of lading for customer shipments.
  • Send ASNs and required paperwork to customers.
  • Inspect the quality of raw materials visually or with a gauge as needed.
  • Responsible for total quality of products and services and authorized to stop work when a non conformance is noted.
  • Perform assigned quality system functions as specified in QMS procedures.
  • Perform other responsibilities as determined by the supervisor.
  • Observe established EHS regulations, procedures, and practices.
