About The Position

This is an entry-level position in the Tool Room department, part of a 3-member team. The Material Handler will be trained to perform pre-operation inspections on rigging equipment daily. They will work with the Crew Leader to identify products to be loaded onto trailers based on a pick list. The role requires learning hand signals to guide the crane operator in the absence of the Crew Leader, rigging panels for lifting, and preparing trailers for product by placing timbers and ensuring secure loading. The Material Handler will also learn to mark up loads, assist team members, and actively participate in the company's 6S, Lean, and Safety Programs.

Requirements

• Read tape measure to ½ inch
• Energetic and self motivated

Nice To Haves

• Reading and writing at Basic levels
• Math at basic level (averages and additions)
• Able to read Blue Prints/Plans
• Experience with load pick lists

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation inspection on rigging equipment.
• Identify product to be loaded on trailers off pick list.
• Learn hand signals to guide crane operator.
• Rig panels to be lifted, communicating with Crane operator.
• Prepare trailer for product, placing timbers.
• Assure timbers and product is secure, making adjustments when necessary.
• Learn how to mark up load.
• Work as a team player assisting other team members.
• Actively participate in companies 6S, Lean and Safety Programs.
