About The Position

As a Material Handler, you will support a designated division or department by handling and organizing materials and maintaining related records. The role includes inventory control, keeping accurate equipment and supply records, and stocking and restocking materials throughout a designated shop area.

The position works in a manufacturing environment and requires following safety and manufacturing policies, standard work, and process instructions to support consistent production and product quality. The Material Handler communicates with staff and management to identify material needs and may use a forklift to move materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing atmosphere.
• Ability to walk, stand, and remain physically active for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to learn computer systems, databases, and a variety of software programs.
• Fluency in English and ability to communicate with coworkers.
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain an organized work area.
• Self-motivated and proactive.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience.
• Previous experience in an industrial or warehouse setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, and maintain records of new and existing materials.
• Communicate with staff and management to identify material needs.
• Fill workstations with appropriate hardware and materials as identified.
• Maintain material records using a scanner or designated computer program.
• May use a forklift to transport, load, and unload materials.
• Learn and follow safety policies and practices to avoid safety incidents.
• Learn and follow manufacturing policies and practices to ensure consistent production.
• Follow standard work and process instructions and identify potential risks to product quality.
• Maintain an organized work area.
