About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Material Handler to support our manufacturing operations. At ITW, Material Handlers play a critical role in keeping production running; ensuring materials are received, stored, delivered, and shipped safely and accurately. You will impact material flow, shipping, and receiving while maintaining inventory accuracy and a safe, organized workspace. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling environment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material ‑ handling equipment safely (certification required or ability to obtain).
  • Basic computer skills for inventory transactions, data entry, and email communication.
  • Ability to read work instructions, labels, and documentation accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment supporting production operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
  • Experience handling regulated, bulk, or hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safety-first mindset by following all ITW, OSHA, and site safety requirements, including PPE, equipment checks, and safe material‑handling practices.
  • Complete daily forklift and equipment inspections prior to use; report and address unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Follow procedures for handling hazardous, flammable, or regulated materials, including adherence to SDS requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized warehouse and dock areas consistent with 5S and audit readiness expectations.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement activities focused on risk reduction.
  • Receive inbound materials, verify quantities and condition against documentation, and accurately transact receipts in the system.
  • Label, barcode, and store materials in designated locations based on SOPs and material flow requirements.
  • Perform system transactions for inventory moves, transfers, and adjustments to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct routine and cycle count activities, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings to supervision.
  • Pick, stage, package, and prepare domestic and international shipments according to work orders and customer requirements.
  • Verify product identity, quantities, packaging, and labeling prior to shipment.
  • Process small‑parcel shipments and assist with freight coordination as required.
  • Stage outbound orders to ensure safe, on‑time loading and shipment.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment to move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods throughout the facility as required.
  • Load and unload materials to and from storage racks, floor locations, trailers, and designated staging areas.
  • Support bulk material movements, including loading and unloading tanks or box trucks, following site‑specific procedures.
  • Maintain orderly storage areas, aisles, docks, and outdoor areas to ensure safety and material integrity.
  • Manage pallets, scrap, recyclable materials, and waste in accordance with site procedures.
  • Return tools, equipment, and materials to standard locations at the end of each task or shift.
  • Communicate clearly with production, customer service, and shipping teams regarding priorities, shortages, and issues.
  • Support cross ‑ training initiatives and assist other departments during peak workload periods.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, accuracy, safety, and efficiency and share suggestions through ITW continuous improvement channels.
