About The Position

This role oversees the day-to-day operations of a shipping and warehouse group in a production environment. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring that shipping and warehouse processes are efficient, cost-effective, and followed correctly. This includes coordinating the movement, storage, and security of materials, liaising with customers and logistics agents, and managing inventory accuracy. The position also involves training and directing employees, ensuring safety, and monitoring schedules to meet manufacturing goals.

Requirements

  • Ability to monitor schedules and accomplish manufacturing goals.
  • Independent judgment.
  • Willingness to fill-in as needed to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure shipping and warehouse processes are intact and followed in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing movement, storage, and security of raw materials, finished products, and parts.
  • Liaise with customers and logistics agents to coordinate delivery of products and accessories, delivery priorities, and mutually beneficial delivery schedules.
  • Ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules; work with peers to resolve material availability issues to ensure orders ship complete.
  • Set Final Assembly and transportation work schedules based on production plan, customer delivery requirements, and materials availability.
  • Communicate staffing resource requirements and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.
  • Focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the group in a production environment.
  • Train, instruct, and direct work activities of employees.
  • Coach and mentor for performance improvement as appropriate.
  • Assure inventory accuracy by facilitating cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
  • Audit material receipt, movement, and issue transactions within ERP software to assure inventory accuracy and troubleshoot potential issues.
  • Train and ensure the safety of team members, enforcing workplace safety policies.
  • Monitor schedule to accomplish manufacturing goals.
  • Exercise independent judgment.
  • Fill-in as needed so that production goals can be met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
