About The Position

As a Material Handler, you will perform many tasks related to transporting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to facilitate Manufacturing processes. You will operate powered-industrialized-equipment for material handling purposes such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 Years or Older
  • Adequate training and experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, including mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective equipment
  • Organizational Skill and attention to detail
  • Communication – Ability to read, write and speak English. Must be able to articulate ideas and plans and communicate these accurately and effectively to others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of functions for the manufacturing team including safe and efficient movement of steel and parts.
  • Identify and communicate shortages / discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Identify and maintain proper job sheets, travelers, blueprints, and other paperwork associated with parts.
  • Transport, load and unload steel sheets and materials throughout the facility to ensure product is organized and staged efficiently and ready for production.
  • Utilize handheld devices to review and execute material move queue transactions within the MRP system, accurately processing inventory movements and ensuring timely updates to inventory records.
  • Execute real-time system transactions using handheld devices to ensure accurate inventory movement tracking and maintain inventory integrity across all warehouse locations.
  • Verify product, quantity, and location information through handheld scanning technology and promptly escalate discrepancies identified during inventory movements.
  • Assemble pallets, boxes, etc. to contain products to facilitate movement through operations.
  • Keeps indoor and outdoor (yard) areas clean by shoveling loose materials, such as sand, gravel, snow, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into containers, such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels to remove from high traffic areas in manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Maintain all work areas, you perform tasks within, in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety for self and others into daily activities.
  • Must be flexible to support production schedules and business needs, which may occasionally require work outside of standard operating hours.
  • Fill in as needed / Perform other duties as assigned.
