Material Handler
About The Position
GW Lisk is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. This role is responsible for the movement of manufactured goods and materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, and delivery vehicles. The position also includes duties of a Tool Crib Attendant, receiving, storing, and issuing machine tools, gages, and inspection equipment, and maintaining records using a computer database. Additionally, the Material Handler will perform shipping and receiving tasks, verifying incoming items, preparing items for shipment, and ensuring parts are packed correctly and safely. General maintenance duties such as clearing and salting sidewalks and monitoring driveways for safety are also part of the role.
Requirements
- Must have good Math skills.
- Must understand and apply handling class policy when pulling, stocking, and transporting materials.
- Must have good Organizational skills and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. (standing, lifting, bending)
- Must be able to operate a pallet jack, tow motor /license is a plus.
- Able to follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, safety, and environmental control standards.
- Must have basic computer skills: Experience with MS Word, Excel.
- Must be a Team Player.
- Engage in 6S activities and maintain a clean work area at all times
- Reliable and Dependable (be here as required and arrive on time)

Nice To Haves
- Syteline experience is a plus.
- Experience with an ERP System is a preferred
- Able to read simple drawings: use scale, calipers and simple measuring instruments.
- Tooling experience; identification of tool types.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for movement of manufactured goods and materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles.
- Receives, stores, and issues machine tools, gages and inspection equipment in manufacturing environment.
- Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of issues and returns using computer database.
- Perform a variety of shipping and receiving tasks.
- Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate locations.
- Prepares items for shipment ensuring parts are packed correctly and safely so that no parts are damaged in shipment.
- Clearing and salting of sidewalks and monitor the driveway to make sure it is safe for trucks to come in on the loading dock and our employees are safe to walk without slipping.
- Perform the necessary system transactions required to maintain accurate inventory.
