About The Position

Nesco Resource is seeking a Material Handler for a temp-to-perm opportunity in Bethel, CT. The role involves safely and efficiently moving materials within production and warehouse areas, cleaning and preparing spools, and ensuring production flow, quality standards, and workplace safety. The Material Handler will transport raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, load and unload trucks, maintain inventory records, and communicate with production and warehouse teams. Responsibilities also include mounting spools, setting tension and pitch on spoolers, and performing visual inspections for surface defects. This position requires experience operating a sit-down forklift, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

Experience operating a propane, sit-down forklift
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Forklift certification with experience loading/unloading trailers.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, walk, and reach.
Manual dexterity, along with strong visual and auditory ability.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Transport raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods between departments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists.
Load and unload trucks, verify materials against shipping documents, and store items in designated areas.
Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory levels.
Communicate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability.
Mount proper take-up spools/pails and set correct tension and pitch on spoolers.
Perform visual inspections for surface defects including splits, slivers, scratches, and oxidation.
