About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and accurate loading and unloading of product within the distribution center. This role utilizes ERP systems for location and storage of items, proper packaging, and material movement methods. The Material Handler may also prepare goods for final shipment, including coordinating and executing documentation for domestic and international shipments. Responsibilities can include handling inbound or outbound materials based on business needs. The duties and responsibilities listed are representative and not all-inclusive.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience with MHE (Material Handling Equipment), including Order Pickers, Reach Trucks, Counterbalance (slip and clamp), and Dock Stocker.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner.
  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • General distribution knowledge.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation.

  • May train and implement functions in SAP.
  • Required to maintain current status in C2C training modules.

Responsibilities

  • Processing customer orders including scanning bar codes, picking and labeling boxes.
  • Picking, packing, and processing orders using RF technology.
  • Maintaining an acceptable work area as outlined in SOP and work instructions.
  • Responsible for following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Completing all necessary RF device training.
  • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packaging.
  • Palletizing orders by scanning, retrieving, and placing completed orders on pallets.
  • Re-palletizing products for shipment.
  • Performing dock manifest duties, including scanning completed pallets and operating the shrink wrapper.
  • Transporting pallets by MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
  • Loading and unloading inbound/outbound shipments utilizing the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Ensuring safe loading/off-loading of pallets to prevent damage.
  • Completing assigned duties in a timely manner.
  • Locating and retrieving products and replenishing picking locations.
  • Operating MHE in a safe manner and reporting any damage or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Maintaining equipment neatness and orderliness.
  • Performing job activities in a safe and reasonable manner, adhering to safety requirements.
  • Assisting in maintaining warehouse security and promoting a safe environment.
  • Reporting all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards, or conditions immediately.
  • Reporting any suspicious persons or activity.
  • Understanding organizational quality goals.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional image and facility cleanliness.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
  • Potentially receiving Hazmat training.
  • Becoming knowledgeable with other warehouse positions and assisting as required, acting as backup during absences or vacations.
