About The Position

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC is seeking a full-time Material Handler in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. This role is responsible for receiving, identifying, storing, dispersing, packing, and loading materials. The Material Handler will also process necessary paperwork, check materials against orders and drawings, and utilize various equipment for material movement. A key aspect of this role involves maintaining a clean work area, using computer systems for material processing and paperwork, and adhering to safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment. The position also includes assisting with on-the-job training and performing other duties as assigned. A valid PA Driver's license is required, with the potential to operate a company truck for material transport.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid PA Driver’s license.
  • Ability to use computer systems for processing material and generating paperwork.
  • Ability to use hand trucks, power trucks, power tools, and other packaging equipment, cranes, or other devices to move equipment and material.
  • Ability to count pieces and report shortages, excesses, spoilage, and malfunctions.
  • Responsible for safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming material and checks it to specification.
  • Properly identifies, stores, and disperses material.
  • Properly identifies, packs, and loads material for shipment.
  • Processes all necessary paperwork for all incoming supplies and material and outgoing product.
  • Checks materials to orders and drawings.
  • Uses hand trucks, power trucks, power tools, and other packaging equipment, cranes, or other devices to move equipment, material, etc.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining own work area.
  • Uses the computer to process all incoming and outgoing material and generate appropriate paperwork for shipment.
  • Assists with any on-the-job training requirements and performs other duties of equal or lower classification as directed.
  • Responsible for safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Counts pieces, reports shortages, excesses, spoilage, and malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • May be required to operate and secure loads using the company truck, to move parts or material to and from shop when directed by the supervisor.
