About The Position

Under general supervision, the Material Handler I prepares and packages finished coils in a safe manner to a designated location. This includes operating exit recoiler controls, packaging equipment and driving a forklift. Communicates daily with employees from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or experience
Basic computer skills
Time Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demands
Detail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demands
Good communication skills

One year of Manufacturing Experience

Responsibilities

Responsible for fulfilling exit assistant duties including operating exit recoiler controls, operating the packaging line and driving a forklift.
Responsible for verifying that finished goods are properly identified with an identification ticket prior to moving them to a storage area.
Responsible for preparing materials to be used for packaging and shipping of finished coils.
Responsible for quarantining non-conforming material and notifying Quality Control when non-conforming conditions exist.
Communicates daily with internal personnel from Maintenance, Operations and Quality Control to help resolve any problems and help achieve company goals.
Transport a bore horizontal coil from the coil cart to the proper location including using a coil mat/chock.
