About The Position

This position is responsible for processing raw materials and/or kit and delivery of parts to work areas or processing orders ready for shipment. The shift schedule is Monday – Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am. The pay rate is $23.06 + shift differential. This role works under the general direction of a more seasoned team member, routes questions to the appropriate person, and demonstrates a willingness to learn and improve. The Material Handler adheres to policies, procedures, and best practices, with the ability to learn new skills and follow directions. They are expected to produce at takt time while following standard work and are able to work individually and in teams. The role requires adherence to Watlow Way Behaviors, Values and Principles, participation in MDI/ Improvement, and a basic understanding of data analysis. The Material Handler demonstrates knowledge with computer systems and models Watlow Way behaviors, principles, and values while applying the Watlow Business System.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify the quality and quantity of shipments of incoming materials.
  • Build packaging, pack, check product quality, weigh, organize and verify paperwork of shipments.
  • Monitor key materials performance metrics such as cycle count, inventory turns, and safety.
  • Plan and coordinate physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure optimization of cost and service level.
  • Issues and delivers correct materials to production floor, keeps track of inventory, and ships and receives material to ensure proper flow.
  • Loads and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility.
  • Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other handling equipment to move material to and from locations and transportation vehicles within the facility.
  • Delivers continuous improvement through participation in lean kaizen events.
  • Problem solves and implements controls for cycle count discrepancies.
  • Collaboration with supply chain, manufacturing, trade compliance, customer service and logistics teams.
  • Demonstrates capabilities in material management, materials requirement planning (MRP), pull systems, flow, and the implementation of LEAN concepts.
  • High attention to detail, follow up and attention to customer service.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills to improve cycle count accuracy and replenishment systems.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
