About The Position

This role is responsible for the safe and accurate loading and unloading of trucks, including performing necessary computer transactions. The Material Handler is also responsible for the transportation and storage of materials, components, and finished product throughout the facility. This position supports the production department by ensuring timely delivery of necessary materials and removal of finished products, while maintaining accurate inventory control and adhering to FIFO procedures. The role also involves maintaining a safe and organized staging and storage area through 5S procedures and understanding and adhering to all job instructions, including hazardous waste/material handling procedures.

  • Ability to use a handheld Radio Frequency (RF) system
  • Solid computer skills, specifically ability to use the inventory control system

Responsibilities

  • Safely unload inbound trucks and/or load outbound trucks while performing accurate inventory transactions in the inventory control system.
  • Ensure FIFO procedures are followed and receipts are entered timely and accurately.
  • Ensure shipments are on time and match bill of lading paperwork, noting any discrepancies.
  • Support the production department by delivering necessary product and/or materials to each process.
  • Remove finished product from workstations to prepare for shipment per customer requirements.
  • Scan all components and/or finished goods materials to the proper location to ensure physical location matches system location.
  • Maintain a safe and accurate staging and/or storage area for raw materials and/or finished goods by performing proper 5S procedures.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all job instructions for any production process for which the associate has been qualified or trained, such as hazardous waste/material handling procedures.
