About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for loading, warehousing, and shipping tankers, boxes, sacks, and overseas bulk containers using manual and mechanical processes. The role participates in AdvanSix Operating System principles, including Standard Work, 5S, and Continuous Improvement; obtains a forklift license; participates in scheduled and unscheduled outages; and trains unqualified Material Handlers. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

This part-time position is based in Chesterfield and requires work in a 12-hour rotating-shift environment, including holidays, weekends, and required overtime. The hourly rate is $21.96.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness and ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift that includes holidays, weekends, and required overtime.
• Proficiency with a computer, including programs such as Word and Excel.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug test.
• Strong communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to meet the minimum physical requirements needed to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely wear, use, and operate all required personal protective equipment (PPE) according to manufacturer specifications.
• Ability to work on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces and in adverse weather conditions, including cold, heat, humidity, rain, and snow.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and exert up to 75 pounds of pulling force.
• Ability to work at elevated heights greater than 50 feet.
