Material Handler - 3rd Shift

About The Position

The Entry Material Handler operates a forklift to collect, stack, and deliver a wide variety of materials within the production plant to support an assigned team. The role follows safety procedures, manages scrap disposal, keeps materials and work areas organized, and responds to the team’s supply needs. It also involves using material-handling equipment and communication and inventory systems, including JDE Kanban functions.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
At least 1 year of experience in material handling or forklift operation.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
Ability to multitask and prioritize internal customer needs.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to understand manufacturing processes and tools such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, and method sheets.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Basic computer skills.
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check; motor vehicle screening may apply.
Forklift certification required.
Crane license required for Punch Cell roles.

Responsibilities

Consistently practice all safety procedures.
Identify material types and dispose of scrap properly.
Operate radios, scanners, a trash compactor, and a cardboard baler for material handling.
Maintain a clean, orderly area; keep aisles clear, part racks organized, and parts stocked in posted locations.
Complete daily checklists and visual inspections.
Keep supplies adequately stocked for the team’s daily needs.
Respond to team requests in a timely manner.
Use JDE functions to send Kanban cards and track their status and history.
Use department programs to communicate supply needs.
