About The Position

The Material Handler, CAR-T Warehouse Operations manages material needs and requirements for CAR-T production in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), working in controlled and/or classified environments under the supervision of Warehousing Operations Management. The role requires adherence to regulatory requirements, collaboration within a team on an assigned production shift schedule, and communication of production deviations and assistance with quality investigations as applicable. The posted schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., onsite. The employee may need to work overtime when business requires and work across the Summit and Warren, New Jersey sites if needed.

The position involves inventory control, material expiry and allocation management, kitting, maintaining material condition requirements, supporting production dispensary inventory, receiving apheresis raw materials, and preparing final product shipments for couriers. Work takes place in and around laboratories and controlled cleanroom areas, including routine exposure to human blood components, reagents, chemicals, and sanitization agents. Cleanroom garments and personal protective equipment are required in designated areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; OR an Associate/Medical Technical degree and 2 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience; OR a High School diploma/GED and 4 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of a cGMP/FDA-regulated industry and a general understanding of cGMPs.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Technical writing capability.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Inventory control and/or management knowledge.
• Ability to work in an environment with blood-derived components.
• Ability to walk and sit intermittently and to sit or stand for extended periods as needed.
• Physical dexterity sufficient to use computers and documentation.
• Sufficient vision and hearing capability to work in the job environment.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
• Ability to work around laboratories and controlled, enclosed, restricted areas.
• Ability to wear cleanroom garments and personal protective equipment in designated areas.
• Ability to work in an enclosed, restricted cleanroom with assigned pressure and temperature conditions and expected exposure to reagents, chemicals, and sanitization agents.
• Compliance with restrictions in designated areas, which may prohibit food and outside materials such as cell phones and tablets.

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory control activities, including cycle counts, material stocking, and scrapping.
• Manage material expiry, allocation, and kitting, and maintain material condition requirements.
• Quantify and maintain materials in the production dispensary.
• Receive incoming raw materials through apheresis receipt and prepare final product shipments for couriers.
• Maintain timing according to the production schedule to ensure on-time logistics.
• Record material handling data and information clearly and concisely according to proper GDPs.
• Work in a team-based, cross-functional environment to complete warehousing tasks required by the shift schedule.
• Communicate production deviations and assist with quality investigations, as applicable.
• Work overtime when business requires.
• Work across the Summit and Warren, New Jersey sites if needed.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
