About The Position

CDCG is seeking talented individuals to join their Weekend Crew within our Great Lakes Division. This unique opportunity is 5 AM - 5 PM and will be scheduled 5 AM - 5 PM Sunday/Friday/Saturday. Although this team will be scheduled for 36 hours a week, employees on this team will be paid for a full 40 hours. There is also still opportunity for overtime. The Material Handler is responsible for moving aluminum castings, scrap hoppers, packaging, WIP castings and finished goods throughout the plant, as required. Material Handlers are accountable to keep all areas organized and clean.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Keep production workstations stocked with material needed to produce.
  • Detects and reports improper conditions or operations of forklift and requests maintenance as appropriate.
  • Ensure all materials are kept in their designated storage area.
  • Report any concerns regarding the organization of areas to your immediate supervisor.
  • Follows instructions from supervisor to adapt to any short-term requirements.
  • Load and unload trailers and trucks as required.
  • Properly completes daily paperwork.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area consistent with safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Work safely around and/or while operating heaving equipment or manufacturing machinery.
  • Regularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of your abilities.
  • Comply with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs.
  • Performs duties in compliance quality, as well as safety policies, procedures/processes, and programs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain an active MIOSHA Forklift Operators Permit issued by CDCG.
  • Build positive relationships and work cooperatively with associates in a team environment.
