About The Position

Technical Metal Specialties is looking to expand their team at New Berlin, WI. We are 100% employee owned along with a climate-controlled building! Plus, you will receive a $1,000 hiring bonus as well as 20.0 hours of PTO. This is a 1st Shift/Full-Time position, Monday through Thursday, 5:30am to 3:30pm with a minimum starting rate of $21.00 per hour. While using the companies ERP system, independently transports Work in Process between operational work centers or to other designated areas or resources as assigned. Kits together multiple piece parts for more complex assemblies. Moves raw materials and gathers hardware.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED, HSED)
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently
  • Operating a forklift, hand truck, electrical hoists or other power driven equipment to load or move materials required

Nice To Haves

  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred
  • Previous ERP experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Locates and arranges for flow of materials, fixtures, and finished components to ensure uninterrupted flow of production by supplying production area with needed materials from inventory.
  • Moves parts through the shop in a timely manner based on material move requests.
  • Reads and analyzes the company’s Production Execution report, to determine availability of jobs that are available to kit and then prepares those jobs for subsequent operations.
  • Ensures proper functioning and layout of storage areas and identification to insure an organized shop.
  • Maintains general housekeeping and organization of WIP and steel storage areas.
  • May rotate into the shipping/receiving department and help as needed by preparing and loading materials on to and off of vehicles.
  • Installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • When unloading, verifies an accurate visual receipt of materials per the drivers’ delivery documentation.
  • Takes inventories as directed.
  • Operates forklifts, electrical hoists or other power driven equipment to load or move materials.
