About The Position

Primarily responsible for the support of the DC by efficiently sorting, scanning, staging and wrapping merchandise. The Department Material Handler also checks merchandise and ensures the product is loaded and checked in the proper delivery sequence by customer stop code.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred.
Commitment to a high standard of safety and willingness to comply with all safety policies and practices.
Excellent attendance record.
Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed.
Good comprehension and organizational skills.
Ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management.
Ability to maintain records accurately and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to meet physical assessment requirements for this position.

Nice To Haves

Power Equipment certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Understand how to read truck loading forecast summary.
Set up a truck run by truck load forecast summary.
Identify and sort by customer stop code.
Operate a handheld scanner.
Stack pallets appropriately to avoid customer service issues.
Load and secure merchandise.
Obtain power equipment certifications (electric power jack, walker/rider, and forklift).
Meet quality standards.
Take direction from Supervisor.
Communicate any truck run changes with transportation.
Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.
Adhere to DC housekeeping guidelines.
Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
